Rams Set to Compete in Mountain West Tournament

Colorado State travels to Reno for conference tournament

FORT COLLINS – The Colorado State softball team will compete in the Mountain West Conference Tournament starting on May 6 in Reno, Nevada. The Rams sit at the sixth seed in the Mountain West and will face Nevada in round one of the tournament.

What You Need to Know 
 
  • All games during the conference tournament will be streamed and can be accessed on the Mountain West Network.    
  • The winner of the game of the Rams and the Wolfpack will advance to round two and face UNLV on Thursday, with first pitch set for 6:00 p.m. PT.

Game Notes 
 
  • The Rams completed conference play this past weekend against Grand Canyon at home. Saturday's game featured a senior celebration for two graduating Rams, Giselle Bentley and Delaney Saugstad. 
  • As the Rams wrapped up conference play, Madi Eslinger ended on top for the Rams offensively, with a .377 batting average, accounting for 11 runs, 20 hits, three home runs and 16 RBI of the Rams' offense. Eslinger stands at seventh in batting average in the Mountain West as the Rams head into tournament play. 
  • Jailey Wilson and Kyra Smith lead the Rams offensively in home runs, each notching four home runs during conference matchups alone. 
  • Giselle Bentley led the Rams in the circle, ending the season with a 5.10 ERA, claiming six wins and six losses. Bentley had nine starts throughout the year, with 57.2 innings pitched, notching 14 strikeouts in total. 
  • Reagan Wick ended the season with a 5.35 ERA, notching 47 strikeouts through 70.2 innings pitched.  
  • The Rams ended conference play with 181 total hits and 130 runs through 26 games. As a team, CSU finished the season with a .273 batting average and .430 slugging percentage. Defensively, the Rams notched 513 putouts and 224 assists as a whole.
