RENO, Nev. – The Colorado State softball team fell to the Nevada Wolf Pack in the first round of the Mountain West tournament Wednesday night, falling 10-1 in five innings. The Rams competed in their first conference tournament since 2024, acting as the six seed going into the tournament.

The Rams managed four hits, including a home run by Jailey Wilson in the top of the third inning before Nevada responded with ten unanswered runs, including eight in the third inning.

Other Rams that added hits for Colorado State included Madi Eslinger and Kyra Smith while Wilson also added a triple in the fifth inning, totaling seven bases in just three at bats.

Reagan Wick started the game for CSU, pitching a strong first time through the powerful Nevada lineup, including opening the game with a strikeout before exiting in the third inning. Giselle Bentley entered in relief, pitching two and a half innings with two strikeouts and no walks, but the All-Mountain West loaded Nevada lineup was too much for the Rams to overcome.

The first-round loss marked Bentley's last appearance as a Ram, as she closed out her career Wednesday night in Reno alongside fellow senior Delaney Saugstad as the two represented the 2026 CSU Softball senior class.

Colorado State will look ahead to the 2027 season, featuring its inaugural year in the PAC-12 Conference.
