SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Colorado State (13-13, 1-1 MW) fell to San Diego State (16-11, 1-1 MW) with a final score of 2–1 at SDSU Softball Stadium on Saturday. Colorado State's offense was highlighted by a solo home run in the fourth inning by Allyson Moody.

The Rams faced the Aztecs, with both teams remaining scoreless through the first three innings with strong outings by both starting pitchers. In the fourth, Colorado State took the lead when Allyson Moody homered to left field, a solo shot and the first of her career.

In the fifth inning, SDSU responded with two runs. A pinch runner scored on Jade Ignacio's RBI-double, and another run followed on a sacrifice fly by Quinn Waiki.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Rams were able to get out of a jam thanks to a coach's challenge won by head coach Jen Fisher, gaining the third out on a runner-left-early, but still with a one-run deficit, Colorado State was unable to score in the seventh, concluding the game at 2-1 in favor of the Aztecs.

Giselle Bentley took the start for the Rams, pitching four and a third innings in which she allowed six hits and two earned runs while striking out one batter. Bentley did not issue any walks and delivered 43 strikes out of 56 total pitches. Andrea Jaskowiak provided relief for CSU, pitching one and two-thirds scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out one.

Other offensive production for the Rams came from Kaylynn English, who tripled in the game and Bradie Poteet-Herrera who doubled in one of her three plate appearances.
