FORT COLLINS — Colorado State (14-15, 2-2 MW) takes game one against New Mexico (12-17, 0-4 MW) in a tight-knit match, delivering a late-game victory.

In the third inning, New Mexico extended its lead as Miracle McKenzie homered to left center. CSU remained scoreless, with New Mexico leading 2-0.

Entering the sixth inning, the Rams offense came alive. Jailey Wilson and Kyra Smith both singled and Bradie Poteet-Herrera drew a walk to load the bases. An error by New Mexico allowed Wilson to score, and Abby Edwards delivered a 2-RBI single, bringing home Smith and Poteet-Herrera. CSU took a 3-2 lead.

In the seventh inning, New Mexico tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI fielder's choice from DeNae Vasquez-Dickson. Colorado State responded in the bottom of the inning with a single from Lauren Stucky, followed by Wilson's single. Smith's hit advanced the runners, and Allyson Moody's walk-off single drove in Wilson for the winning run.
