#25STRONG
During the 2019 season, the Colorado State softball team will continuously recognize it being #25Strong, referring to 25 years since being reinstated as a sport at Colorado State. The Rams' softball program began in 1976, but did not compete during the 1993 season due to the program being cut at the end of the 1992 season. Colorado State reinstated the softball program and competed in 1994.

STRONG START
Colorado State will look to continue its strong start to the season as it has recorded nine shutouts and is outscoring its opponents, 143-42. In 2018, the Rams totaled six shutouts all season after posting their best start – winning the first seven games – since the 1997 season.

LAST TIME OUT
Colorado State finished non-conference action last week at the Colorado State Classic II at Ram Field posting a 5-0 record, including four of them five inning games and three shutouts.
The Rams started the weekend with its biggest victory of the weekend with a 14-3 win against Dayton in five frames. CSU followed the opener with another win over Dayton (10-0) before defeating Syracuse twice (8-6, 8-0) and Wagner (8-0).

CONFERENCE OPENING RECORDS
The Rams are 14-27 all-time in conference openers, including 6-8 at home. Colorado State has started Mountain West Conference action at Ram Field the last three seasons, including an opening win against Nevada in 2018 - which also snapped a four-game skid in league openers.

NO-NO
Senior ace Bridgette Hutton hurled her first-career no-hitter in the dominating victory over Idaho State on Feb. 28. She allowed just three base-runners - all on walks - while not allowing a hit in the five inning victory on her way to recording her fourth win of the season.

GET ON BASE
Multiple Rams have gotten on base this year, including in every game. Corina Gamboa has reached base in every game except three as she held an 18 game streak that was stopped against Syracuse. Both Amber Nelson and Danni Klein carry an eight game streak into conference play.

CONFERENCE AWARDS
Colorado State has dominated the Mountain West weekly softball awards as it has garnished four so far this season, including three-consecutive Player of the Week honors. Amber Nelson earned her first weekly award this week as she was named the MW Player of the Week for her performances last weekend.

LEADING THE NATION

The Rams have recorded 50 doubles so far, which is tied for Pac-12 school Arizona State and just behind Big 12 program Texas with 51.

NON-CONFERENCE RECORDS
The Rams finished their non-conference schedule, holding a 17-4 record - its best non-conference mark since the 1987 season. Colorado State's nine shutouts are the most since the 2003 - the last time the Rams made the NCAA Tournament. CSU's seven run-rule victories are also the most since 2005 when there were eight. The Rams still have two non-conference games left against Northern Colorado, March 26 and April 23.

INSIDE THE PARK
In Colorado State's 14-3 win over Dayton to start the Colorado State Classic II, both Ashley Michelena and Tara Shadowen hit inside the park home runs. Michelena started the game with hers, followed by Shadowen an inning later. The two in a one game is the first time in recent history to have happened.
