Rams Gear Up for Weekend Matchups Against Ranked Opponents

Tough matchups and Senior Day highlight weekend
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State women's tennis returns to action this weekend with a pair of matches against nationally ranked opponents, opening on the road before hosting Senior Day at the CSU Tennis Complex.Â
The Rams begin the weekend Friday, April 10, traveling to Arizona to face No. 75 Grand Canyon at 10 a.m. The Antelopes enter the weekend 11–10 overall and a 4–4 mark in conference play. Live scoring will be available for the match.Â
Colorado State returns home Sunday, April 12, to host No. 40 San Diego State at 10:30 a.m. at the CSU Tennis Complex. The Aztecs hold a 15–3 record and a 7–1 conference ledger while riding a four-match winning streak. The match will be live streamed with live scoring.Â
San Diego State features a nationally ranked doubles pairing in Jo-Yee Chan and Vessa Turley, who are ranked No. 81 nationally and hold a 23–6 record in doubles play this season.Â
Colorado State enters the weekend 6-13 with a 3-5 mark in conference competition. Â
Sunday's match will also serve as Senior Day, honoring Colorado State seniors Luana Avelar and Hanna Haber for their contributions to the program. Â
Avelar has anchored the Rams at the No. 1 singles position, compiling a 6-4 overall record. She also leads Colorado State's top doubles lineup alongside Sorcha Caves, with the duo posting a 7-4 standing in doubles play. Â
Haber has contributed mainly in doubles this season, posting a 3–2 overall doubles record, with some wins in the No. 2 doubles slots.Â
