Coach's Corner
Head Coach Ryun Williams
On getting into conference play…
"We have been shortening up our rotation a little bit in the last game or, so which is what usually happens when you get near conference play. Everybody is in the same boat, so everybody must be ready regardless if you play in December or January. You must be ready to go. Teams are still figuring out who they are, but let's go. Conference is always fun."

On the recent history versus San Diego State…
"We've had some success against San Diego State. They have good players. It's one of those cycles that you can't really explain. Maybe we were lucky in a few of those. We've always had good battles down there in San Diego. I know a few years back we had a layup at the buzzer, so we anticipate a really competitive game and we are excited to play it."

Off the Tip
• Last time out, the Rams defeated UC Riverside 52-40, marking the third time CSU, the MW-leading scoring defense (57.8 ppg), has held an opponent to less than 50 points - a feat not replicated in the conference. For the second-straight game, redshirt-junior guard Jamie Bonnarens sank four three-pointers and finished with 15 points to lead the Rams.

• SDSU (3-5) will play CSU on an extra day of rest as the Aztecs played last Saturday - a nine-point home loss to Arkansas State. SDSU looks to halt a three-game skid. In the Mountain West preseason poll, SDSU was tabbed to fifth - it's highest preseason spot since 2013. SDSU returns 74 percent of their scoring and 81 percent of their rebounding from 2018-19.

• Living and dying from the three-point line are the Rams this season. CSU is first in the Mountain West in 3-point field goal percentage (.389) and 3-point field goals made (70), however have allowed the second-most in the conference (62) for a clip (.335) that ranks sixth in the MW. The Rams are 4-0 when shooting a better percentage in the long-distance game.

• Ball control has been a strength for the Rams. CSU has had less turnovers than its opponent in all but one game (UIW), ranking second in the Mountain West in turnover margin (+6.5). Additionally, in each game this season, the Rams have scored more points off of the turnovers than its counterpart. Sharing also has been a positive for the Rams as their assists (109) rank third within the MW and their assist-to-turnover ratio (1.28) sits atop of the conference.

A Colorado State Win on Wednesday Would Mean…
• Improving to 12-9 all time in MW openers with head coach Ryun Williams at 5-3. Williams earns win No. 150 at CSU.
• The Rams notch their second three-game winning streak of the season.
• In the series, the Rams take the two-game lead and move to 12-3 in the past 15 meetings.
