Another Sunday Noon Tip for Rams

Busy Sunday at Moby Arena

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Aiming for its second consecutive win, the Colorado State women's basketball team will play UC-Riverside Sunday at noon in Moby Arena's doubleheader.

Off The Tip
• For the third time this season, the Colorado State women's basketball team will suit up for a Sunday noon tip. This Sunday marks a doubleheader for Moby Arena as the men's team will play Utah Valley immediately after the conclusion of the women's game against UC-Riverside. The meeting is the first ever between the two institutions.

• The Rams (4-3) broke their three-game skid Tuesday with a 75-47 win over Incarnate Word in front of a closed Moby Arena crowd due to weather. Andrea Brady notched her first double-double of the season (14 pts, 14 rebs). Megan Jacobs and Jamie Bonnarens chipped in a dozen each including seven threes. Taylor Mole had a career-best 12 points - all from three in the second half. UIW was 10th in the nation in 3FG defense, but the Rams hung a season-best 14 on the Cards.

• The Highlanders (2-6) come to Fort Collins after a lopsided 70-27 Friday loss at No. 24 Arizona. UCR has wins over New Mexico State and Utah Valley, but all six of its losses have been by double-digits. In the Big West Conference preseason polls, UCR was tabbed to finish third by both the coaches' and the media. Jannon Otto, the Highlanders leading scorer, was named to both preseason conference teams, while Marina Ewodo, the leading rebounder, joined her in the coaches' poll.

• Living and dying from the three-point line are the Rams this season. CSU is first in the Mountain West in 3-point field goal percentage (.414) and 3-point field goals made (63), however have allowed the second-most in the conference (59) for a clip (.353) that ranks sixth in the MW. The Rams are 1-3 when they trail in the long-distance game.

• Ball control has been a strength for the Rams. CSU has had less turnovers than its opponent in all but one game (UIW), ranking second in the Mountain West in turnover margin (+6.57). Additionally, in each game this season, the Rams have scored more points off of the turnovers than its counterpart. Sharing also has been a positive for the Rams as their assists (99) rank third within the MW and their assist-to-turnover ratio (1.27) sits atop of the conference.

A Colorado State Win on Sunday Would Mean…
• CSU would carry its two-win momentum into the first conference game of the season on Wednesday versus San Diego State.

Scouting UC-Riverside Highlanders
• UCR went 17-16 last season, finishing 10-6 in the Big West. The Highlanders return nine letterwinners, including four starters. Three of the returners earn all-conference honors last season; Jannon Otto (1st), Marina Owodo (2nd), and Daphne Gnago (freshman). They welcome four newcomers
• Otto (15.2 ppg) and Owodo (11.9 ppg) were the top scorers from last season, while Gnago led in rebounding (7.7 rpg).
• The Highlanders have faced a tough schedule thus far with only three home games - one of which against Pac-12's USC.
• UCR leads the Big West in blocks, rebounding and free-throw percentage
