Avelar-Caves Tandem Earns All-Conference Honors

Eighth consecutive season for a Rams’ doubles team to be named
FORT COLLINS – They started the season together, then came back together later. Through it all, the pairing of Luana Avelar and Sorcha Caves proved to be one of the best doubles tandems in the Mountain West this season.

For the eighth consecutive campaign, Colorado State has had a doubles team earn All-Mountain West honors, with Avelar and Caves earning the first all-conference recognition of their careers. The honors were announced Tuesday night on the eve of the Mountain West Championships.

The duo posted a 15-5 record on the season and went 5-1 in conference play, winning their final three decisions of the regular season.

The Rams' streak of all-conference honors in doubles began in 2019. Colorado State opens the conference tournament Wednesday at 10 a.m., against Nevada at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
