Women’s tennis pushes tight sets in singles play
RENO, Nev. – Colorado State's women's tennis team closed out its Mountain West Road trip Sunday with a 4-0 loss at Nevada, as the Wolf Pack claimed the doubles point and secured the match with three straight-set singles victories. Â
Nevada earned the early edge with wins at No.2 and No. 1 doubles before clinching the team's result at Nos. 1, 3, and 5 singles. Â
Despite the final score, the Rams battled through several tight sets, highlighted by Annika Planinsek at No.2 singles facing Nevada's Marlene Foerster, a returning all-conference player. Planinsek claimed the opening set in a tiebreak before the match was halted in the second set. Diana Lizarazo also pushed a tight contest at No. 4, taking the first set in a tiebreak and leading in the second before play was stopped. Â
