The FWAA’s All-American team is Trey McBride’s sixth All-American accolade.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Postseason awards have been very complimentary of Colorado State's Trey McBride as the Football Writers Association of America honored him with a first team designation on Friday, his sixth All-American accolade of the postseason.

The FWAA is the second of the five organizations tracked to determine consensus and unanimous All-American status to be released. McBride was named to the Walter Camp All-American team on Thursday night when he also was named the John Mackey Award winner. The final three – the American Football Coaches Association, Associated Press, and The Sporting News - will be released between Dec. 13-15.

McBride is the first Ram to earn FWAA First Team designation since Michael Gallup in 2017 and the fifth Ram overall.

The Fort Morgan, Colo., product was stellar throughout his career, but at his best in his final campaign. He leaves Colorado State as the most productive tight end in history, amassing 164 receptions for 2,100 yards and 10 touchdowns. His catches rank him fourth in a single season and seventh for a career; his yardage ranks eighth and ninth, respectively.

He posted six 100-yard receiving games in 2021 (tied for second-best in a season by a CSU target), giving him eight such games in his career, which ranks sixth.
