"The losses have come to three good teams that made some plays late. You can look at the little details on what it takes to win a basketball game and usually those get exposed in the crunch time. We get better each game. I've said that the last three games, but we are improving. However, we must get better. We aren't good enough yet to beat these teams, but we are coming. We are growing up."

Off The Tip
- After finishing the 2018-19 season with an 8-22 record, the Rams tout a new-look squad - on the court - for 2019-20. Eleven student-athletes return from last year's roster, however five of those student-athletes redshirted for injury or transfer rules.
- The Rams (3-3) suffered their third-straight loss of the season Friday night in a battle down to the wire with Colorado. Redshirt-senior Andrea Brady showed that the rust has been knocked off, dropping 26 points, including four from three-point land - both career-bests. CSU shot 48.2% from the field but could not slow down Colorado who hit 55.1% of its shots.
- The Cardinals (2-2) reached Fort Collins following a Saturday loss at Ohio, 78-41. UIW started off its season with a win against Schreiner before losing to UTSA, defeating Texas A&M International and then falling to the Bobcats most recently. In the preseason Southland Conference poll, UIW received the least amount of votes to place 13th out of 13 teams.
- Ball control has been a strength for the Rams. CSU has had less turnovers than its opponent in every game this season, ranking first in the Mountain West in turnover margin at +8.67. Additionally, in each game this season the Rams have scored more points off of the turnovers than its counterpart.
- Living and dying from the three-point line are the Rams this season. CSU is second in the Mountain West in 3-point field goal percentage (.398) and third in 3-point field goals made (49), however have allowed the second-most in the conference (51) for a clip (.347) that ranks seventh in the MW.
- The Rams halt their three-game skid and go back above .500 at 4-3.
- Colorado State moves to 2-0 all-time against Incarnate Word.
- UIW went 5-24 last season, finishing 11th in the SLC. The Cardinals have plenty of experienced talent, featuring nine underclassmen this season. The roster consists of nine returners, including four starters, while they lost three and one, respectively. UIW has five newcomers.
- Leading the scoring for UIW is senior guard Imani Robinson at 11.3 points per game.
- On the glass, junior guard Kara Speer averages seven rebounds a game to lead UIW.
