Wide receiver Dustin Osborn writes about the trip to San Diego and the events leading up to the bowl game.

"Going to a bowl game is the pinnacle of our season. It's what you work for all year long, starting back last winter and during the spring and summer workouts. It gives us a chance to play together one more time."

"Going to a bowl game is a prize for our hard work. It gives guys on the scout team as well as the entire team a chance to celebrate. Also, it is a chance to practice and try and get better."

"One of the best things about this bowl game is you have to like the weather. In Memphis in 2002 it was cold and rainy. In San Francisco two years ago it was cold and foggy. The weather here is great. This is a paradise venue."

"I am excited for my teammates because we have a lot of people from California that get to play in front of their families. This bowl game means a lot to me personally. Bowl games are hard to come by. I learned that last year when we didn't go, and I realize that I am getting to the end of my career so I appreciate it even more."

"I think this is also a critical game to get our off-season going on the right foot. We can start our 2006 right now with a win. It gives us a good base to show people around the nation and our recruits what a good program we have."
