Colorado State University's football team returned to the practice field Tuesday for the team's Dec. 22 Poinsettia Bowl game with Navy in San Diego.
Rams' coach Sonny Lubick said Tuesday's practice was not as sharp as he would have liked.
"It was not as good as it should be," said Lubick following the two-hour workout. "It as not as good as we have to be. Today was more of an average practice. They (players) seemed like they had too many things on their minds."
Lubick and the Rams continued preparation for Navy, including the team's triple-option offensive attack. He said the Rams must complete installing the team's game plan by this weekend.
With players undertaking final fall semester examinations, the team will not workout again until Friday at 1:30 p.m., then conclude local preparations with a 10 a.m. workout Saturday morning. The team travel party departs Sunday for San Diego, and will practice Monday and Tuesday on the campus of San Diego State University.
"We'll still be okay," said Lubick. "We have to get a lot done Friday and Saturday."
CSU will stage a brief walk-thru at Qualcomm Stadium Wednesday, then face Navy at 7:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast live on the Colorado State Sports Network. ESPN2 will provide live television coverage.
