MEET NOTES
  • Due to weather in Golden, the Mines Kit Mayer has been condensed to Saturday only. An additional meet – the Mines Mid-Week & Multis – has also been added to the fold and will take place Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, the Rams will debut their 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams for the first time this season. The men's 4x400 team broke the indoor record earlier this year and looks to repeat that feat outdoors. Thursday will serve as multis-only where Joe Probst, Tereza Babicka and Italia Bradford will be competing.
  • Klaire Kovatch and Kajsa Borrman return to action on Wednesday as well, Kovatch received MW Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her massive throw in the Discus last Saturday at the Jerry Quiller Invite. Borrman stands on the edge of history, sitting around nine feet shy of Loree Smith's school record in the hammer throw.
  • Zach Sell and Mateo Munoz will travel to the prestigious Bryan Clay Multis as both look to put together scores that could test the regional qualifying top 24 in the decathlon. Munoz finished second in the heptathlon at the Indoor Mountain West Championships and fell just a few points short of qualifying for nationals.
  • Also competing Wednesday is horizontal jumper Ismael Dembele. He makes his second start of the outdoor season after a season-opening triple jump that has him ranked ninth in the NCAA. Dembele finished one spot shy of NCAA Outdoor Nationals in 2025.
  • The Rams return two athletes from lengthy absences this week in Jo-Anna Pinnock and Wilkins Persichina. Pinnock holds both the indoor and outdoor program records in the triple jump while being top five in the long jump as well.
