Women’s tennis heads to challenging road match

FORT COLLINS – Every match demands concentration, accuracy, and relentless effort to come out on top.

The Colorado State women's tennis team will travel to Provo, Utah for a match against Brigham Young on Friday evening. BYU is scheduled to host Weber State at 11 a.m. before facing the Rams at 5 p.m.

BYU enters the day with a 9-1 overall record and a seven-match winning streak, highlighted by a 4-2 win over Denver on Feb. 14. Colorado State dropped a 4-0 decision to Denver earlier in the season, setting the stage for a competitive challenge on Friday.

Denver's Louise Wikander is ranked No. 125 nationally in singles, earning a three-set win over BYU's Gracie Levelston. Rams junior Luana Avelar also faced Wikander, battling through a tightly contested set during their match, then followed up with a win over Minnesota's Aiva Schmitz, ranked No. 117 the next day. Avelar is unbeaten at the No. 1 spot in dual play.

The Rams enter with a 3-4 mark in duals.  There will be a live stream and live scoring.
