Rams Take Win Streak on the Road

Colorado State men’s basketball looks to continue streak in Vegas

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State men's basketball looks to press its luck on Wednesday night when they head to UNLV with a three-game win streak. The Rams and Rebels are set to tip-off at 9:00 p.m. MT.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State closed the game on a 21-4 run to defeat Wyoming on Valentine's Day 79-68.
- CSU's 10-point comeback was the program's since when they overcame a 10-point deficit against Air Force on March 9, 2024.
- The win pushed Ali Farokhmanesh into a tie for fourth most wins by a first-year head coach at CSU with E.D. Taylor (1945-46) and Dale Layer (2000-01).
- The Rams shot 70.6% in the second half and converted 17-of-22 free throw attempts.
- On the defensive end, CSU held Wyoming to 32.4% shooting in the second half.
- Jase Butler recorded career-highs in points (18), assists (6) and steals (3) in the win. He was 11-for-12 from the free throw line and finished the game +25 when he was on the floor. 
- Carey Booth matched his career-high with six blocks in the win. CSU blocked a season-high nine shots.
- Five players finished in double figures scoring for the second straight game. Butler led the team with his 18 points while Jevin Muniz (15) and Rashaan Mbemba (14) combined for 29 points off the bench.
- CSU's bench has been producing at a high level. Over the past five games they are averaging 31.2 points per game. Over the past three games, the bench has reached at least 30 points.
- Colorado State lived at the free throw line last week shooting 66 over the two games making 81.8% of the attempts.
- The Rams rank 29th in the nation making 77.1% of its free throws this year.
- Colorado State won the first match up against UNLV this season 70-60 in Fort Collins.
- Turnovers have hurt the Rams in conference play turning it over 12.2 times per game after committing just 10.9 during non-conference play.
- CSU ranks 115th in the nation and fourth in the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.32.
- The Rams 15.5 assists per game are the third best in the Mountain West and 91st in the nation.
- Colorado State is assisting on 61.3% of its made field goals on the year, the 23rd best mark in the nation.
- CSU's effective field goal percentage of 58.7% is 11th in the nation and second in the Mountain West.
- Colorado State has a pair of Mountain West Players of the Week so far this season in Kyle Jorgensen and Josh Pascarelli.
- Jorgensen's performance over the first week earned him Mountain West Player of the Week honors. The sophomore averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal in the first two games of the season.
- Pascarelli earned his honor after his performance against Colorado (12/6/25). The junior scored 26 points connecting on eight 3-pointers for the second straight game.
- CSU earned a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2024-25 and third in four years.
- Colorado State's 26 wins in 2024-25 tied for the second most in program history. They finished one win behind the record of 27 set by the 2014-15 team. 
- The Rams welcomed the best transfer portal class in the Mountain West in 2025 ranking 61st in the nation.
- Colorado State has the longest active streak of having a player on the first team All-Mountain West list at seven years. Nico Carvacho (2019-20), David Roddy (2021-22), Isaiah Stevens (2023-24) and Nique Clifford (2025).
- Nique Clifford became the fourth player in program history to be picked in the first round of the NBA Draft in June. Clifford was the 24th pick overall by Oklahoma City with his rights traded to Sacramento. He the best seasons in program history his final year. He earned AP All-America honorable mention, was the MVP for the Mountain West Tournament and helped the program earn its first Mountain West title since 2003 by winning the Mountain West Tournament.

Scouting the Rebels
UNLV has shown no game is out of reach for them this season. The Rebels have overcome deficits of 14 at Utah State and 23 at Boise State.

The 23-point comeback came last Friday, led by Mountain West Player of the Week Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn's 36 points. The Rebels have been streaky all conference season, entering Wednesday with a three-game win streak.

Gibbs Lawhorn is leading the Mountain West scoring 19.4 points per game. Teammates Kimani Hamilton (12.2) and Tyrin Jones (10.8) join him averaging double figures per game.

UNLV looks to turn teams over to start their offense averaging 8.0 steals per game. Five different Rebels have at least 20 steals on the year.

Colorado State hosts San Diego State at 4:00 p.m. in the program's annual Orange Out game, going to the Colorado A&M Aggie roots.
