Men’s Hoops to Compete in Inaugural Texas Legends Classic

CSU to face Nevada and Florida Atlantic in Frisco
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The 2026-27 Colorado State men's basketball schedule continues to gain clarity as the Rams will compete in the inaugural Texas Legends Classic December 18 and 20 in Frisco, Texas. CSU will face Nevada and Florida Atlantic, respectively, at the event inside the Comerica Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks G League affiliate Texas Legends.
"The Texas Legends Classic provides our program with a great opportunity to build an NCAA Tournament resume and prepare for our inaugural Pac-12 schedule," head coach Ali Farokhmanesh said. "This event allows us and everyone involved to pick up quality opportunities during non-conference play. Between the Texas Legend event, Maui Invitational, a few other non-conference games we will be well prepared for the Pac-12 schedule. The combination of a challenging non-conference schedule and competitive Pac-12 gives our program a great opportunity to reach the NCAA Tournament."
Colorado State and Nevada are very familiar with each other as members of the Mountain West together from 2012-2026. The Wolf Pack won the lone meeting between the two programs in 2025-26. Nevada leads the overall series 20-16, with CSU winning six of the last 10 match ups.
CSU and Florida Atlantic have met just one time, coming in 2002 when the Rams hosted the Owls in Fort Collins, winning 81-56.
Other known events and games on Colorado State's non-conference schedule include the Maui Invitational, November 23-25. The field for the tournament includes Arizona, BYU, Clemson, Ole Miss, Providence, VCU and Washington. The Rams will also host Loyola Chicago during the non-conference season.
Coach Ali Farokhmanesh enters his second year as the head coach, coming off a 21-13 season and qualifying for the NIT. Farokhmanesh became just the third first-year coach in program history to win 20-plus games. The Rams return six of their top eight scorers from last season.
