Rivalry Resumes on Valentine's Day

No love lost inside Moby Arena Saturday

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State and Wyoming won't be exchanging valentines on Saturday when the two teams face off in round two of the Border War inside Moby Arena. The Rams and Cowboys are set for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State picked up a double digit conference win at Air Force on Tuesday 91-74.
- CSU shot the ball well going 54.5% from the field and 53.8% behind the arc making 14 threes.
- Seven different Rams connected from downtown led by Carey Booth and Jevin Muniz's three each. 
- Five players finished in double figures scoring, led by Brandon Rechsteiner's 14 points. 
- Colorado State shot 36 free throws in the game, making 80.6% of them, a key factor in the win.
- The Rams had their second lowest turnover mark of the year with just eight.
- CSU's bench has been producing at a high level. Over the past four games they are averaging 31.5 points per game.
- Turnovers have hurt the Rams in conference play turning it over 12.6 times per game after committing just 10.9 during non-conference play.
- CSU ranks 114th in the nation and fourth in the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.32.
- The Rams 15.6 assists per game are the third best in the Mountain West and 89th in the nation.
- Colorado State is assisting on 61.6% of its made field goals on the year, the 21st best mark in the nation.
- CSU's effective field goal percentage of 58.3% is 11th in the nation and second in the Mountain West.
- Colorado State has a pair of Mountain West Players of the Week so far this season in Kyle Jorgensen and Josh Pascarelli.
- Jorgensen's performance over the first week earned him Mountain West Player of the Week honors. The sophomore averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal in the first two games of the season.
- Pascarelli earned his honor after his performance against Colorado (12/6/25). The junior scored 26 points connecting on eight 3-pointers for the second straight game.
- CSU earned a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2024-25 and third in four years.
- Colorado State's 26 wins in 2024-25 tied for the second most in program history. They finished one win behind the record of 27 set by the 2014-15 team. 
- The Rams welcomed the best transfer portal class in the Mountain West in 2025 ranking 61st in the nation.
- Colorado State has the longest active streak of having a player on the first team All-Mountain West list at seven years. Nico Carvacho (2019-20), David Roddy (2021-22), Isaiah Stevens (2023-24) and Nique Clifford (2025).
- Nique Clifford became the fourth player in program history to be picked in the first round of the NBA Draft in June. Clifford was the 24th pick overall by Oklahoma City with his rights traded to Sacramento.
- Clifford had one of the best seasons in program history his final year. He earned AP All-America honorable mention, was the MVP for the Mountain West Tournament and helped the program earn its first Mountain West title since 2003 by winning the Mountain West Tournament.

Scouting the Cowboys
Since playing CSU two weeks ago, Wyoming has dropped a pair of games to the top two teams in the league, Utah State and San Diego State. The Cowboys almost upset Utah State at home last week, falling by two.

The trio of Leland Walker (14.9), Nasir Meyer (12.8) and Khaden Bennett (10.0) all are averaging double figures for the Cowboys.

Wyoming will crash the glass, grabbing 36.4 rebounds per game and have a 5.4 rebound margin over opponents this season.

What's Ahead
Viva Las Vegas. The Rams hit the road to face UNLV next Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. MT. CSU defeated the Runnin' Rebels earlier this season in Fort Collins.
