Berg and Westermann Named MW Freshmen of the Week

The third honor this season for Berg, while Westermann claims his first
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State cross country received another pair of Mountain West weekly awards, thanks to its freshmen's performances at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite. Tatum Berg claimed her second freshman of the week honor, while Parker Westermann receives his first.

Berg was the top finisher for the Rams in a stacked Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite. The freshman phenom finished 37th and was the sixth freshman across the line in the 5k. Berg has been the top runner on the women's side for the Rams in two of her three outings, finishing second in the other. At the Roadrunner Invite (Sep 20), Berg finished first overall, bringing in a women's athlete and freshman of the week award.

Westermann claimed his first MW award with his impressive showing in the 8k. The Washington native finished 78th overall and 15th among freshmen. Westermann was the third runner across the board for Colorado State in his second meet with the Rams.

Compared to the nation Berg ranks 20th among freshmen in the 5K, first among freshmen in the MW, and seventh overall in the conference. As for Westermann, his time sits as a top 100 mark in the country in his class, while ranking third among freshman in the conference.
