Rams split for Roy Griak Invitational and Roadrunner Invitational

FORT COLLINS – Coming off a successful Wyoming Invite, Colorado State cross country looks to divide and conquer at a pair of meets this weekend. The action begins on Friday as one group of Rams returns to the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., while another sets its sights on the Roadrunner Invitational in Denver on Saturday.

SPLITTING UP
For the first time since 2018 the Rams will be in two places at once, with one portion of the team heading up to the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" and another taking a short ride to Colorado's capital city.

RETURN TO WASHINGTON PARK
Colorado State returns to the Roadrunner Invitational after a three-year absence. In 2021, the Rams notched a women's second place finish while the men took third. The race is held at Washington Park near Denver, giving Ram Fans an opportunity to watch the Green and Gold in action.

KEEPING PACE
The Ram women look to keep their momentum going after a dominant season-opener in Wyoming two weekends ago. CSU won the meet overall by claiming individual finishes second through sixth, headlined by graduate students Quinn McConnell (17:41.0) and Anna Petr (17:28.9).

IMPRESSIVE DEBUT
At the Wyoming Invite, Allsion Pippert finished in fifth place with an impressive time of 17:52.1. The true freshman from Thorton, Colo., was named the Mountain West Women's XC Freshman of the Week after her performance in her collegiate debut.

RAMS IN THE RANKINGS
The Rams continued to establish their presence when the USTFCCCA rolled out its second edition of rankings this week. The women's team rose to sixth in the Mountain Region and continues to receive votes in the national poll, while the men remain among the top 10 in the Mountain Region, currently ranked eighth.
