This Week in Rams Athletics: Rams are bowl eligible

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado State is bowl eligible! Even though the Rams don't officially know their bowl destination, fans are invited to let CSU know they're interested in purchasing tickets.

Men’s Basketball

CSU will host Saint Martin’s on Monday night at 7 p.m. after a tough loss at home on Saturday to Minnesota. Marcus Walker (18.3), Andy Ogide (16.3) and Andre McFarland (10.7) are all averaging in double-figures for the Rams so far this season.

On Wednesday the Rams will take on New Orleans at 7 p.m. Wednesday is Take a Kid to the Game Night. All youth tickets are just $1 (ages 3 – 17). It is also PSD employee night. Poudre School District employees were mailed vouchers that are good for two free tickets to the game. Those who bring in their voucher and PSD ID to the box office will receive their tickets. Lastly, it’s Ram Club Appreciation Night. All Ram Club members received a voucher for four complimentary tickets to the game. They can redeem their voucher at the Ram Club tent outside of the Moby Arena box office.

Saturday the Rams travel to San Francisco to play the Dons at 3 p.m. in their first road game of the season.

Tim Miles Luncheon Dec. 5

Women’s Basketball

The Rams host the Coors Rocky Mountain Invitational this weekend. The four-game tournament will be held Friday and Saturday at Moby Arena. Colorado State opens with a matchup against Valparaiso, and will face either Florida State or Murray State on Saturday. The action begins at 5 p.m. both days, with the Rams playing in the second contest each night, which will start at either 7 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first games.

Volleyball

The Rams will travel to Long Beach State for their final regular-season match Saturday and will have to wait for an at-large bid to reach the NCAA tournament after losing at Utah last week.

The athletics department is hosting a volleyball NCAA tournament selection show party at the Stonehouse Grille on Sunday night. Fans are encouraged to come out, mingle with Head Coach Tom Hilbert and the players and watch the NCAA selection show, televised on ESPNU. The party begins at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Cross Country

In her first season as a Ram, Ellie Rastall was selected as the only CSU runner to qualify for the 2008 NCAA Division I men's and women's cross country championships, taking place Monday. Rastall will continue to bring her dedication to the CSU cross country team, and her strength and determination likely will ensure her success.
