GAME NOTES

  • Colorado State improved to 2-0 on the year for the first time since 2011 with a 58-44 win over Southern Utah.
  • CSU's offense set the tone early scoring a pair of touchdowns in the first 99 seconds. The Rams finished the day with the fourth most yards in program history (678).
  • Colorado State scored 48 points in the first half, the second most ever in any half of CSU football history; one shy of the record 49 against UTEP in 1984. The Rams' 31 second quarter points were the third most in program history.
  • Quarterback Hauss Hejny accounted for five touchdowns for the second straight game, passing for four and rushing for another
Hejny ended the day with 410 total offensive yards, 325 through the air and 85 on the ground.  Seventy-five of his 85 rushing yards came on a touchdown run to cap off his night.
  • The gunslinger is ranked second in the nation with nine touchdown passes over the first two weeks and has thrown just one interception.
  • CSU had a 100 yard rusher and 100 yard receiver for the first time since 2024 with Mel Brown's 171 on the ground and Jackson Harper's 102 receiving.
  • Brown had a pair of runs over 70 yards. His longest of 80 yards was the longest in program history without scoring and tied for the 6th longest overall in program history. His other run was a 73-yard touchdown run, one of his two scores in the game.
  • Colorado State forced four turnovers by an opponent for the second straight game with a pair of interceptions and fumbles against SUU. It's the first time since weeks five and six of the 2023 season CSU had forced four or more turnovers in back-to-back games.
  • The Rams +3.5 turnover margin is second in the nation only trailing New Mexico.
