Rams compete in two meets in California

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State track split action across two meets in California on Thursday, setting multiple personal bests and establishing a number of top-20 marks in program history.

Pacific Coast Invitational (Long Beach, Calif.)
Throwers headlined Thursday's Pacific Coast Invitational for CSU, with star performances coming from the men's shot put group. Kyle Bigley joined the 60-foot club with his personal best of 18.45 meter/60-foot-6.5, placing him among the top five in program history and taking runner up on the day. Leonardo Ramos finishes just behind Bigley in third, recording an 18.28m/59-11.75 to make it back-to-back weeks with a season best.

The women's discus crew recorded a solid outing with three top-10 finishers, led by Klaire Kovatch's 58.27m/191-2. Makayla Long (53.32m/174-11) and Kajsa Borrman (53.19m/174-6) finished in eighth and ninth, respectively, with Long's mark being her best of the 2026 campaign thus far.

Other notable results included Adam Hellbom's 55.07m/180-8 in the men's discus, which marked a personal best by one inch and broke a tie for 14th place in CSU's record book. The Swedes Borrman (63.30/207-8) and Hellbom (65.54m/211-9) also had solid outings in their respective hammer throw competitions, each finishing in fifth place.

Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa, Calif.)
The Bryan Clay Invitational saw several impressive performances from the distance squad, including a pair of record book risers in the women's steeplechase. Allison Pippert clocked a personal best 10:26.64 to move into 12th place in CSU history, while Amrie Lacefield finished a split second later (10:26.88) to claim the 13th position in CSU's record book.

Also entering the top 20 in the women's 10k was Kenya Dennee, whose 34:56.80 was good for No. 17 in CSU history.
