NOTING THE GAME
  • Rams Protect The Rock: The Rams do a lot of good things, but one of their secrets to success is actually something they DON'T do: Turn the ball over. The Rams have led the nation in fewest turnovers per game each of the past four seasons, coughing it up just 8.7 times per game in 2024-25 which was the only mark below 10.5 in the country. Over the past decade of NCAA DI women's college basketball, only two programs have averaged less than nine turnovers a game across a season: Villanova (2014-15, 2015-16), and Colorado State (2022-23, 2024-25). Nothing new to begin 2025-26 as the Rams are averaging just 8.9 giveaways, tops in the country.
  • Spreading the Sugar: Colorado State has scored 70-or-more points in six of its eight games this season, averaging 72.4  while doing so with a balanced scoring attack. CSU has six players averaging at least 8.0 points, compared to just four doing so in 2024-25.
  • Defense Wins: Colorado State's defense has been elite to start the season, giving up an average of just 52.4 points per game which is among the top 20 in the country. The Rams have held seven opponents to 60-or-fewer points, with three being held below 50.
  • 20-Or-More: Colorado State has been a model of consistency under head coach Ryun Williams as the Rams have won 20-or-more games in each of the past four seasons. Throughout Williams' 13 seasons at the helm of the program, CSU has won at least 20 games in nine of those years.
  • One Last Ride: The 2025-26 campaign marks the final in the Mountain West for Colorado State as the Rams announced they will be leaving the league to join the Pac-12 beginning in the summer of 2026. Colorado State was a founding member of the MW in 1999 and have won seven conference titles (tournament and regular season) since. The Rams are looking to establish themselves as the leaders of the Pac and have gone 11-1 against future conference foes since the start of the 2024-25 season.
  • Loyal Rams: In an age of college athletics where playing at multiple schools has become the norm, Marta Leimane and Hannah Ronsiek have shown that sometimes it's best to plant your roots and grow. The pair of fourth-year seniors have combined for 187 appearances and 109 starts over their four seasons in the Green and Gold, helping the Rams to three-consecutive 20-win campaigns. Entering their final season of eligibility, the duo are set on winning their first conference championship together.
  • BargessHER: Lexus Bargesser transferred to Colorado State from Indiana over the summer and wasted no time introducing herself to Ram Country. The 5-foot-9 guard dropped a career-high 22 points in the season opener against Weber State and leads CSU in scoring with 15.6 points per game. The senior guard does it all on the floor for CSU as she is averaging 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 steals. All of this comes on top of leading the Mountain West in shooting percentage, converting 57.1% from the floor.
  • Flame Thrower: Redshirt freshman McKenna Murphy has a quick trigger from 3-point range, and for good reason. The Omaha, Neb., native has been one of the top 3-point shooters in the country this season, ranking in the top 25 in 3FG% with 47.8. "Murph" also ranks in the top 40 nationally in 3-pointers made with 22, and has three games with four-or-more triples this season.
  • Moby Madness: Moby Madness is one of the best home court advantages in the Mountain West, and the numbers back it up. Across the past six seasons (since 2020-21) Colorado State men's and women's basketball combine for the second-best home winning percentage in the league (.823), just below conference newcomer Grand Canyon. CSU is one of only two schools in the conference to win 80% of its home games during that stretch.
