Debiec Earns Her Second Weekly Award of the Season

Redshirt-freshman leads Rams to clinch tournament berth
FORT COLLINS - Colorado State setter Erin Debiec earns second Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week award this season after the Rams secured two wins on the road, solidifying their spot in the Mountain West Tournament, looking to defend their tournament title from last season.
Debiec led the Rams offensively, totaling 82 assists, averaging 10.25 assists per set. As a team, the Rams hit at a .289 clip with Debiec running the offense compared to a .180 hitting percentage from their opponents. The redshirt freshman added five kills on the week from the front row, hitting at a .343 clip throughout the week on the road.Â
Debiec continued to show her range offensively and defensively, adding six total blocks during the two matches, while totaling 22 digs as a defender from the back row.Â
Debiec earned her 12th double-double of the season in the Rams' match against UNLV in which she contributed 43 assists while dominating the back row, leading the defense with 16 digs.Â
The team will return home to continue conference play against Grand Canyon on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. for its first home match against the Lopes, before rounding out conference play against New Mexico on Saturday at Moby Arena at 1:00 p.m.
