FORT COLLINS – The Colorado State track and field men's and women's teams will be traveling to the University of Colorado this Friday and Saturday to participate in the Potts Invitational, the first indoor meet of the calendar year.

What you need to know:

The Potts Invitational is hosted by Colorado in Boulder at the CU Indoor Practice Facility. Events will span over the course of two days in.
Friday will host field events with women's pole vault kicking things off at 12 p.m., with the men to follow. Long jump and triple jump will follow later in the day. To round out the day, at 2 p.m., high jump, weight throw and shot put are all scheduled.
Saturday's track events will start at 11 a.m. with men's 60-meter hurdles, followed by the women.

Meet Notes:

Before winter break, senior Drew Thompson was named Mountain West Men's Field Athlete of the week for his stellar performance at the UCCS Pre-Holiday Invite. Thompson recorded a nation-leading score in the men's heptathlon this season with 5,623 points. He also broke five of his own personal records including 60-meter, long jump, shot put, 60-meter hurdles and the 1000-meter run.
After four weeks of winter break and an excellent start to the indoor season, the Rams are using this meet as an evaluation to see how athletes and their skills have altered over the month long break.
Colorado State will send 67 athletes to compete over the weekend. Many of them making their CSU debut.
