THE WEEK
• Colorado State will hit the road for the first time this season and travel to Fort Worth, Texas for the Fight in the Fort.
• The Rams will face Florida Atlantic, host TCU and Florida State in the round robin tournament.
• CSU will play FAU on Friday at 9 a.m., MT before facing host TCU that evening at 5 p.m., MT.
• The Rams will finish the weekend playing No. 22 Florida State at 11 a.m., MT on Saturday.
 
LAST WEEK
• Colorado State began the 2019 season last weekend hosting the Ram Volleyball Classic, posting a 2-1 record.
• The Rams cruised past Chicago State in their season opener, but recorded their first loss of the year against Cal.
• CSU responded in the final match of the weekend, sweeping Oklahoma in front of 5,003 fans in the annual 'White Out' match.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
• Following the season's first road trip, the Rams will return to Colorado and play a home-and-home series with the University of Colorado.
• CSU will host the Buffs on Thursday, Sept. 12 before playing in Boulder the following day.
 
OPPONENTS AT A QUICK GLANCE
• All three teams began their season's last weekend and had successful openers.
• FAU went 2-0 after defeating Stetson and Niagara. The Owls went 21-7 in 2018.
• TCU posted a 3-0 record in the opening weekend with wins over High Point, Lipscomb and Villanova.
• The Horned Frogs finished 2018 with a 15-12 record and 7-9 in the Big 12.
• Florida State lost its opener against then-No. 5 Wisconsin, but responded with a sweep against then-No. 3 Minnesota.
• FSU recorded a 19-10 overall record and 15-3 in the ACC in 2018.
• The Seminoles are ranked No. 22 in this week's AVCA Poll.
 
RAMS AT A GLANCE
• CSU recorded a 2-1 record last weekend in its home tournament to earn runner-up champions.
• The Rams swept Chicago State and Oklahoma, but fell to Cal, 3-1.
• Middle blockers, Paulina Hougaard-Jensen and Kirstie Hillyer were named to the All-Tournament team.
• The Rams won their 15th regular season MW title in 2018 after a 23-8 overall record and 15-3 in league play.
• Senior setter, Katie Oleksak was named the Preseason Player of the Year for the second time.
• CSU claimed four of the seven preseason team positions, including Oleksak, Breana Runnels, Kirstie Hillyer and Paulina Hougaard-Jensen.
• The Rams reached the 20-win plateau a season ago for the 24th consecutive season.
• Last season the Rams finished in the Top-25 in the nation in aces per set, blocks per set and hitting percentage.
• The only loss CSU will see from 2018 is in its ace and dig totals. The Rams return 98.3% of their total offense.
