THE WEEKEND
• Colorado State will begin Mountain West Conference action this week, traveling to Nevada on Thursday before hosting San Jose State on Saturday night.
• Thursday night's conference opener will start at 7:30 p.m., MT and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
• The Rams return to Moby on Saturday and host their first league match of the season starting at 7 p.m., MT.
• Fans are encouraged to wear orange to Saturday night's match for an 'Orange Out' in recognition of Colorado A&M's former school colors of pumpkin and alfalfa.
OPPONENTS AT A QUICK GLANCE
• Nevada will begin Mountain West Conference action with a 7-4 record, after starting the season with a 7-2 mark.
• The Wolf Pack dropped their last two matches of the non-conference schedule to Saint Mary's and Pacific last weekend.
• Nevada strung together three win during the non-conference, picking up wins against Virginia, Northern Illinois and Northern Kentucky.
• San Jose State finished its non-conference slate with a 5-4 mark and will face Wyoming on Thursday night before playing CSU Saturday night.
• The Spartans also won three-consecutive matches during the preseason, winning the Northern Colorado Classic.
LOOKING AHEAD
• Following the Mountain West opening weekend, the Rams will head on the road to San Diego State on Thursday, Sept. 27 for a 6 p.m., MT match.
• Colorado State will then head north to Fresno State on Saturday, Sept. 29 for a 2 p.m. MT match with the Bulldogs.
• After the road weekend, CSU will begin Oct. 2 at Wyoming before hosting Air Force on Oct. 5.
RAMS AT A GLANCE
• Colorado State will begin its Mountain West Conference schedule with an 8-4 record after posting a 2-1 mark last week at the Colorado Classic.
• The Rams swept Indiana State and Portland State before falling in a close battle with in-state rival Colorado, 3-1.
• Katie Oleksak and Breana Runnels tallied their third double-double of the season against the Buffs, as Runnels recorded 18 kills and 10 digs, while Oleksak had 54 assists and 11 digs.
• Breana Runnels finished the weekend with 45 kills and .243 hitting percentage, while also tallying 17 digs, four aces and nine total blocks.
• Breana Runnels has reached double-figure kills in every match except for against Michigan and UNC Wilmington.
• Kirstie Hillyer begins league play with a team-best 55 total blocks and a 1.25 block/set average, including four solo.
