MATCHUP QUICKFACTS

The Rams will be making their third apperance in the Rainbow Classic with their best finish coming in 2005, when the Rams finished second in the tournament. CSU also played in the Classic in 1972.

Colorado State is 2-4 all-time in the Rainbow Classic. CSU has traveled away from the continental 48 states on three occasions since the 1998-99 season. The Rams have gone 8-1 in those games, including a perfect 3-0 mark during the 1999 Pearl Harbor Classic in Hawaii, a 2-1 record at the 2005 Rainbow Classic in Hawaii and a 3-0 mark, including a tournament title, at the 2007 Top of the World Classic in Alaska.

The Rams and Rainbow Warriors, old conference rivals when CSU was a member of the WAC, have only met twice since in the last seven years (Nov. 24, 2001, and Dec. 22, 2005) with CSU winning each game. As WAC members, the two schools met twice per season from 1979-80 until 1999-2000 when CSU joined the Mountain West.

The 45th annual Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic is the longest running eight-team tournament in the country.
