  • Colorado State sophomore guard Sean Morris scored 11 straight points for the Rams from the 14:17 mark to the 6:40 mark in the first half, giving CSU the 18-17 advantage. During the same stretch, TCU got all seven of its points from senior forward Judson Stubbs.

  • TCU sophomore guard Brent Hackett and Stubbs have both been in double figures in scoring 18 times this season, while senior guard Nile Murry has done so in 27 games and has scored 20 or more seven times this year.

  • Murry has at least three three-pointers in five of the last six games. Murry tied his career high in scoring with his 26th point at 3:15 mark of the second half with the second of two free throws. He ended the game with 28 points.

  • For the first time this season, Colorado State sophomore forward Jason Smith did not score in a half. The previous low for Smith was two in the first half at Kansas State on Dec. 7. He came back to score 11 points in the second half, marking his 27th double figure scoring game of the year.

  • In the first half, the two teams combined to shoot 10-for-11 (.909) from the free throw line. That is the second best combined performance in a half in a Mountain West Conference Tournament game (minimum 10 makes) behind the 11-for-12 (.917) from the first half of the San Diego State vs. Air Force Quarterfinal Game last season.

  • Colorado State junior guard Cory Lewis recorded nine assists in the game, tying for the third most in a Mountain West Tournament game. (18, Mark Dickel, UNLV, 2000; 12, Mark Walters, UNM, 2005; 9, Chris McMillian, WYO, 2000; 9, Dickel, 2000) The nine assists also ties Lewis' high from the game against Iowa State on Dec. 23. It is also the most by a Ram in a MWC Tournament game, passing Andy Birley's seven from the semifinal game against BYU in 2003.

  • Colorado State is now 5-5 in Mountain West Tournament games, while TCU is 0-1.
