Ram Shooters Hit Cold Spell in Las Vegas

Colorado State shot a season-low 33.9 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 17 times in a 68-57 loss at UNLV Wednesday night.
CSU (12-5, 1-3 MWC), fell behind 12-4 after a 10-0 run by the Rebels but crawled back into things and took a 21-19 lead with 8:30 left in the first. UNLV then used its second 10-point run of the half to regain an eight-point lead less than three minutes later.
UNLV (9-7, 3-1 MWC) exteneded its advantage to nine at the break before scoring the first five points of the second frame and taking a 43-29 lead.
CSU would get no closer than eight points the rest of the game before falling by the final count of 68-57.
Center Stuart Creason led the Rams with 13 points and five rebounds while Jason Smith and Andrew Patterson each added 12 points for CSU. Forward Michael Harrison and Guard Micheal Morris led Colorado State on the boards with eight apiece.
UNLV's Louis Amundson paced the Runnin' Rebels with 21 points and 12 rebounds while Jo'Van Adams added 20 in the win.
CSU was 19-of-56 from the floor for 33.9 percent on the day while hitting 3-of-17 from long range (.176). UNLV was 25-of-58 shooting (.431) and won despite losing the rebounding battle to the Rams 42-33.
Colorado State remains on the road Saturday when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas to take on TCU. Tipoff for the game is slated for 6 p.m. MT.
