Colorado State takes on Mountain West Championship

Palm Springs, Calif — The Colorado State women's golf team wrapped up round one of the Mountain West Championship Tournament Tuesday, April 21 sitting tied with first as a team carding a 291 team score while Kara Kaneshiro sits tied for first as an individual with a round one score of 68.
Round One Recap:
The Rams opened this year's Mountain West Championship with a strong first round, ending the 18 holes tied for first with #51 nationally ranked San Jose State. Colorado State ranked first this round in two team stats; the Rams had the best par-4 performance with an average of 4.00 (E), as well as highest total birdies with 14.
Kara Kaneshiro was the frontrunner of the round for the Rams, boasting a four-under card and a tie for first individually. Kaneshiro shot six birdies during her first 18 holes, three on both the front and back nine.
Jacinda Lee earned a first-day finish tied for 12th, playing consistently with two birdies and three bogeys to land her a one-over card for the round. Chiara Sola and Ebba Thalen both ended the round tied for 20th playing three-over-par, Sola shooting two birdies on the front nine and Thalen shooting two on the back nine. Inje Natchanun rounded out the team for day one, shooting five-over and notching 8 pars on the front nine.
