Freshman awarded for adding two entries to MW record book

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State track and field's Owen Langdon received two Mountain West awards for his performances last Wednesday at the Mines Mid-Week and Mutlis. Langdon has been awarded both Mountain West Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Men's Freshman of the Week.

Langdon started his day by running the second fastest 110-meter hurdles in CSU history. The 13.57 sits only behind Trevor Brown in the Colorado State record book and ranks as the fifth fastest time ever from a MW athlete.

Langdon's 110 hurdles ranks 17th in the nation, seventh in the west region and first in the conference. Among freshman he sits in a tie for the second fastest mark in the country at 13.57 and best in the west region.

Langdon's day continued as the freshman ran in the record-breaking men's 4x400 team. The Texan was accompanied by sophomore Sean Donelson as well as juniors Kenny Carpenter and Ashton Whisler. The 4x400 squad ran a blistering 3:05.87 that won the meet despite competing against the fastest 4x400 ever from a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference school via Colorado School of Mines.

The time ranks as the fifth best in conference history and the best at Colorado State by nearly three seconds. CSU now leads the conference in the event, ranks seventh in the west region, and 24th in NCAA D1.
