Dawson to Close Career at NIC

Fifth-year will compete in four events
FORT COLLINS  – At the Mountain West Championships, Erin Dawson proved she sill had a bit more in the tank, producing a pair of all-conference swims. Now, she gets the chance to carry the momentum into one final meet.

Dawson will close out her decorated Colorado State career at the National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Fla., swimming in four events over the three-day meet, March 12-14. Dawson will compete in all three individual medley's (100-, 200- and 400-yard events), as well as the 200 backstroke, a race where she broke into the program's top 10 in the bonus final at conference.

The 200 IM takes place Thursday, the 400 IM follows on Friday and she closes with her last two races – slated back-to-back – on Saturday. There will be a live stream of the meet held at the FAST Facility.

Dawson is the school-record holder in both the 200 and 500 freestyles and ranks second in the 400 IM. The versatile performer ranks in the top 10 in five different events. The preliminaries begin at 7:30 a.m. (MT) all three days, with the finals slated for 4 p.m.
