Sophomore named diver of the week
FORT COLLINS -- Â First year in the conference, first weekly awards assessed and Colorado State's Sydney Ovesen christened the process for the Rams by being named the Pac-12 diver of the week.

The honor stems from Colorado State's double dual the week prior when it beat both Washington State and Colorado Mesa at EPIC. Ovesen not only won both springboard events but did so with bonuses stemming from her performance.

She won the 1-meter springboard to start the day, her 280.20 a NCAA Zones cut. She came back even stronger on the 3-meter, posting a 304.95. Once again, it was a Zones cut, but it also ranks fifth all time at Colorado State.

An all-conference performer last season, this is the first weekly honor of Ovesen's career. She and the Rams will look to keep the momentum going Friday when they take on Denver (4 p.m.)
