Rams blank Stetson 3-0 in first Florida trip

Colorado State starts its road swing with a trio of goals and a shutout
DELAND, Fla. — Colorado State women's soccer (2-0-0) opened its Florida road trip Thursday night with a 3-0 victory at Stetson (1-1-0), marking the program's first-ever match in the state of Florida and first 2-0 start since 2019.
With a fast start, the Rams forced the Hatters to congest the middle of the field, but still found space and controlled the attack. Colorado State outshot Stetson 13-6 and put six attempts on goal to the Hatters' three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
McGowan put the Rams on the board in the 12th minute after Fout set her up. Ten minutes later, Fout found herself unmarked and returned the favor by finishing a pass from McGowan to make it 2-0. Colorado State added an insurance tally in the 74th minute when Carlson fired from long distance to secure the 3-0 lead.
CSU NOTABLES
·      Until Carlson's second-half goal, Fout had been involved in all five Colorado State goals this season.
·      Fout moved into sole possession of No. 2 on CSU's all-time career points list.
·      Willson recorded her first shutout of 2025.
·      The Rams earned their second straight win to open the season.
