Three Rams Named Phil Steele All-American; 10 on All-Conference Squad

Three Rams were named to Phil Steele's All-American Team
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Three Rams - Trey McBride, Scott Patchan, and Ryan Stonehouse - were named to Phil Steele's All-American squad while seven other added all-conference recognition, the magazine announced following the 2021 season.
Led by Trey McBride on the first team, the 2021 John Mackey Award winner and first unanimous All-American in program history, Colorado State had two other Rams earned honorable mention honors in Stonehouse and Scott Patchan.Â
Patchan capped his collegiate campaign with a dominant 2021 season and became the first Colorado State defensive lineman in Mountain West history to earn first-team honors twice in his career. The Tampa, Fla., native enjoyed two highly successful season with the Rams. In 2021, Patchan tallied 18.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks, good for sixth all-time in a season in program history. His 27.0 tackles for loss and 16.0 sacks are just outside the top 10 for a career. He ranked No. 6 nationally with 18.5 tackles for loss and No. 4 nationally in TFLs per game. Patchan's sack totals also ranked inside the top-15 nationally.
McBride and Patchan both added first team all-conference honors by the publication.
Stonehouse earned second team honors after concluding the best career by a punter in FBS history. His 47.8 yards per punt average over his career set an NCAA FBS record for career punt average, and his 50.9 average in 2021 was the best of his career and a Colorado State program record. He also added second team all-conference honors.
Long snapper Ross Reiter was named the league's top snapper by the outlet. The league's official team does not include a snapper. Reiter was named a preseason All-American by Rubio Long Snapping as well as a semifinalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award given to the nation's top snapper.
Place kicker Cayden Camper, who set the single-season school record for made field goals in 2021, also earned second team honors.Â
Among the 12 available positions for kicker, punter, and snapper on Steele's four teams, Colorado State was the only school to have a player in all three positions.
Linebackers Cam'Ron Carter and Dequan Jackson added third team honors while running back David Bailey, offensive lineman Barry Wesley, and returner Thomas Pannunzio all appeared on the fourth team.
