Next on the Tee: Colorado State is coming home to host the annual Ram Masters Invitational Presented by Pedersen Toyota, Sept. 16-17. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo.
 
Handicapping the Field: CSU heads into the Ram Masters Invitational as the five-time defending champion of the event, having won last year's tournament by 14 shots over Illinois State. This year's field includes the Rams, Air Force, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Creighton, Denver, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Houston Baptist, Northern Colorado, Pacific, South Dakota, Utah State, Utah Valley, UTEP, Wichita State and Wyoming.
 
Lineup for the Ram Masters Invitational: The Rams are in the traditional play-five, count-four event this week at Fort Collins Country Club. For CSU, the lineup will be:

Last Time Out: Colorado State again improved on its previous round and finished in a tie for seventh at the 2019 Carpet Capital Collegiate, Sept. 6-8. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by Georgia Tech, is being played at The Farm Golf Club (Par 72 – 7,180 yards) in Rocky Face, Ga.
       In a field that featured five teams in the top 25 and three others receiving votes in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, the Rams improved three more shots over their second round score to record a 4-over 292 and tie for seventh with Clemson at 21-over 885. Host Georgia Tech led from start to finish, shooting an even-par 292 in the final round to win at 3-under 861, 20 shots ahead of North Florida, Charlotte and East Tennessee State in a tie for second at 881. South Carolina and Alabama tied for fifth at 19-over 883.
       CSU had two golfers finish in the top 20, as senior AJ Ott was the top finisher for the Rams in a tie for 15th at 3-over 19, with sophomore Davis Bryant one shot back at 4-over 220, tied for 18th. Junior Cullen Plousha tied for 37th at 10-over 26, while fellow junior Parathakorn Suyasri tied for 42nd at 11-over 27. Sophomore Oscar Teiffel rallied in the final round with the top round of the day for the Rams at 1-under 71 to tie for 63rd at 17-over 233. Georgia Tech's Luke Schniederjans took the medalist honor at 9-under 207, five shots ahead of teammate Tyler Strafaci at 4-under 212.

Last Season at the Ram Masters: Colorado State men's golf extended its lead late in the final round to capture the 2018 Ram Masters Invitational presented by Pedersen Toyota, Sept. 17-18. The two-day, 54-hole event, hosted by the Rams, was played at Fort Collins Country Club (Par 70 – 7,218 yards) in Fort Collins, Colo.
       Starting the final round with an 11-shot advantage, the No. 28 Rams maintained at least an eight-shot lead throughout the last 18 holes and eventually finished with a 4-under 836, 14 shots clear of runner-up Illinois State, who opened its season with a victory at Wisconsin's tournament. The Redbirds finished at 10-over 850, four shots better than South Dakota in third at 14-over 854. In-state rivals rounded out the top five teams, as Denver moved up to fourth at 15-over 855 and Northern Colorado placed fifth at 19-over 859.
       CSU had four players finish in the top 10. Sophomore Parathakorn Suyasri recorded his top collegiate finish as the tournament's runner-up, shooting a 4-under 206. Senior Jake Staiano was three shots back at 1-over 209, one shot ahead of freshman Davis Bryant in a tie for sixth at even-par 210 as only eight players finished at par or better. Junior AJ Ott was next for CSU at 1-over 211, tied for ninth, while sophomore Cullen Plousha completed the team scoring at 6-over 16, tied for 31st.
