ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Sophomore Saga Traustadottir led the Colorado State women's golf team in its season opener at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational with a 73-71-78—222 (+6) to tie for 36th. The Rams finished the two-day, three-round tournament tied for 14th scoring 304-306-301—911 (+47).

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Saga Traustadottir marked the lowest score of the week in the second round with a 71
- Andrea Bergsdottir played well on the par fives, recording a 4.83 average and a two-under par on them
- Tomine Bjerkelo and Saga Traustadottir were also below par on the par fives
- Bergsdottir led the team with eight birdies, followed by Saga Traustadottir and Tomine Bjerkelo who each recorded seven
- Jessica Sloot inked CSU's lone eagle, which was one of the nine made in the Invitational.

"It wasn't the start to the season we were looking for, but we saw a lot of potential in our squad going into the season," said head coach Laura Cilek. "Our three freshman in the lineup looked much more comfortable the second day and it is going to be fun to see them grow over their college career."
