Recap: CSU swim & dive loses at Denver

DENVER – The Colorado State Rams swimming & diving squad experienced their first loss of the 2016-17 season against the University of Denver. The event was held on Saturday afternoon in Denver and was the Rams first away meet of the season.
The Rams were able to come away with three swimming wins during the event and also swept the diving events. Haley Rowley won the 1000 Yard Free with a time of 10:22:46, winning by three seconds.
Katie Kicklighter was also able to give the Rams a boost with a narrow victory in the 50 Yard Free, with a time of 23:90.
The final swim victory of the afternoon for the Rams came during the 400 Yard Free Relay. Katie Kicklighter, Rowan Hauber, Carmen Mand, and Teagan Griffith finished the race in the top spot with a combined time of 3:30:50. Denver’s swimmers all raced the 400 Free Relay as an exhibition.
Nicole Sisco won the 3-meter dive with a 224.63, narrowly edging teammate Madison Gess (223.80). Emily Williams took the 1-meter event with a score of 243.30. Gess again earned a runner-up result, posting a 237.45.
CSU is now 1-1 on the season and will return home to face Idaho on Friday at Moby Pool. The event will begin at 5 p.m. MT.
