CSU volleyball players spend time at Werner Elementary

FORT COLLINS, Colo.--The Colorado State women's volleyball team understands the influence it has on young lives both on and off the court, and on Tuesday, players spent the afternoon reading and talking to students at Werner Elementary.
Three players, Brieon Paige, Michelle Smith and Kelsey Snider, answered questions with fifth-grade students and explained the importance of education. They also talked about scholarships, both academic and athletic.
In the first-grade classroom, Deedra Foss, Carlie Foust and Marlee Reynolds read to the students.
"It was a lot of fun," Foss said. "I didn't really know what to expect, but the kids were so cute. It was a cool experience to spend time with the kids and read and talk to them."
It's fair to say that the students enjoyed their time with the student-athletes, as well, making them cards to bring back to their teammates.
CSU closes out its regular season Saturday at noon MT against New Mexico State. The following day, the Rams will learn their NCAA tournament matchups.
