FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State Head Coach Kristen Holt announced Thursday that the Rams have added point guard Meixandra Porter to the 2009-10 roster.
Meixandra Porter (5-6, PG, Chantilly, Va./Freedom High School)
Porter, a 5-6 point guard from Freedom High School in South Riding, Va., averaged 12.5 points per game and shot nearly 81 percent from the free-throw line for the Eagles, who went 20-7 and reached the Region II semifinals. Porter was a first-team all-district selection and a second-team all-region honoree, after leading the Eagles to their first district championship and first regional tournament in school history.
Holt on Porter: "Meixandra is a very good, athletic point guard. She has a tremendous pull-up jumper and is a great on-ball defender. She can use her right and left hand equally well and loves the transition game. I have great expectations for Meixandra as I believe her best days of basketball are ahead."
The announcement of Porter’s NLI signing comes one day after the Rams announced the addition of Chantel Kennedy, a guard from the nationally ranked Wesleyan School in Norcross, Ga.
