Colorado State head coach Tom Hilbert has today announced two players have signed national Letters of Intent to play volleyball for the Rams.
Jacqueline Davisson (5-10, Outside Hitter, Placentia, Calif./Valencia HS)
Jacque was named the MVP of the Diamond Ranch Tournament and has helped lead her team to the Empire League Title. Last season she played for Impact Volleyball Club and will play this year for Golden West Volleyball Club under the tutelage of former Ram great, Melissa Courtney.
"Jacque is athletic, fast and fiery," said Hilbert. "She really plays with a great deal of intensity and a fast motor and I really like that about her. She plays great back row defense."
Katelyn Steffen (6-4, Middle Blocker/Right Side Hitter, Dickinson, N.D./Dickinson HS)
In addition to starting for the volleyball team for four seasons, Katelyn has started on the varsity basketball team since she was an eighth-grader, and has already won three state championships in the high jump.
"Katelyn is one of the better kids physically I have successfully recruited in my career," Hilbert stated. "She is extremely coordinated and a smooth player. I have no doubt she'll be one of the better players, probably in the nation, but the time she's done at Colorado State."
"These two kids, along with redshirt Jonelle Wallace, make this a great volleyball class. They are an extremely athletic trio and I forsee great things at Colorado State."
