Another strong blocking performance helped lift the Colorado State Rams over the Denver Pioneers in Moby Arena this evening, 30-22, 30-12, 30-19. The win is Tom Hilbert's 250th at Colorado State and improves the Rams' record to 9-6.

Sophomore outside hitter Jaime Strauss led the match with 14 kills and hit a match-high .414 (14-2-29), while junior rightside hitter Tonya Mokelki added 10 kills and 11 digs, notching her second straight double-double. Sophomore setter Ashley Fornstrom led the match with 13 digs and freshman libero Katelin Batten notched 10 digs, marking the 13th straight match she has been in double figures in digs - which ties the school record (Carrie Appleman, 1992).

"We played a good, consistent, solid match," said Hilbert. "Our serving was great, we have not served better than we have tonight."

Denver was led by junior middle blocker Kim Muller with seven kills and senior outside hitter Lisa Hunter led with nine digs. Emmy Davidsmeyer and Muller were in on the only Pioneer block of the evening.

Colorado State travels to Air Force for a 6:00 p.m. match on Friday. The Rams then host UNLV and San Diego State on Oct. 13 and 14, respectively.
