Rams Finish First Day of ITA Central Region Championships

Two of Colorado State's women's tennis players competed in the ITA Central Region Championships in Salt Lake City today.

Freshman Lauren Strasburger went into the qualifying rounds seeded, but was upset by New Mexico's Lucy Scott 6-3, 6-0 in the first round. Senior Carla Pallares also lost in her first match to Melissa Cornett of Arkansas 6-1, 7-5. Pallares and Strasburger will play on Thursday to begin doubles competition.

Junior Emily Kirchem and sophomore Anne Andersen will play in both the singles main draw and the doubles draw on Thursday.
