Wright Selected for ESPN True Freshman All-American Team

Receiver is one of five players from Group of 5 honored
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – From the opening week of the season, Dante Wright made it clear he was going to make an immediate impact for the Colorado State football team. Monday, the true freshman was recognized for his outstanding inaugural campaign by ESPN.
The Navarre, Fla., product was named to ESPN's True Freshman All-American Team, one of just five Group of 5 players on the 30-player team, one of two from the Mountain West.
Wright started every game, finishing second on the team with 57 catches for 805 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed 17 times for 214 yards and two additional scores. Those numbers ranked him third nationally among all freshmen with 67.1 receiving yards per game, and his total receptions ranked sixth.
He started his career with back-to-back games of recording a rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game. In successive weeks against Western Illinois and Arkansas, he posted a 75-yard receiving touchdown.
Overall, he posted a pair of 100-yard receiving games, recorded 11 explosive all-purpose plays (six longer than 40 yards), had four games with at least one 20-yard run and seven contests with a 30-yard reception.
Wright is the first CSU freshman to earn All-America honors from an organization since Cory James in 2012 (FWAA).
