COLLEGE STATION, Tex. – Colorado State senior thrower Alex Godell finished in 13th place in the weight throw Saturday at the 2009 NCAA indoor track and field national championships, held at Texas A&M University.
Godell, a native of Littleton, Colo., fouled on his first two throws before posting a mark of 19.72 meters (64 feet, 8.5 inches) in his final attempt.
It marked the first indoor NCAA championship meet appearance for Godell, who will now move on to the outdoor season, where he is the two-time defending Mountain West champion in the hammer throw.
