NEW ORLEANS -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has honored Head Coach Brian Bedard as the regional Coach of the Year for the Mountain Region, one of nine regions, the organization announced Monday.

The Colorado State women's track & field program continues to add awards on its way to this week's NCAA championship. Bedard also won the Mountain West Conference women's Coach of the Year earlier this season. His team, men and women combined, is qualified for the highest number of events (12) in the Mountain West Conference for the upcoming national-championship competition.

The Rams departed Monday morning for the NCAA championship that will begin on Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa, at Drake University.

CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) will be airing live coverage of the NCAA championships Friday from 6-9 p.m. MDT. The station also will broadcast live coverage of the final day of competition from 2-4 p.m. MDT, Saturday.
