Water Polo Places Seventh In WWPA

Santa Cruz, Calif. - Colorado State women's water polo team ended their season with a seventh place finish in the WWPA Championships.  The Rams defeated Cal State Bakersfield in the last day of the WWPA Championships 8-6.

 

Colorado State was able to hold Bakersfield to two goals in the first three periods.  Net minder Krystyna McCright denied Bakersfield 12 times in the game.  Laurien White led all players with four goals in the game.  Emily Chambers added three, while Annie Quinn netted one for the Rams.

 

Colorado State (14-19) finished their season in seventh place, which is the best finish the Rams have ever had.  Number two seed Loyola Marymount defeated the number one seed UC Davis 6-5 (OT) in the championship match.
